Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 9: Recent heavy snowfall in the Valley has once again exposed the Kashmir-centric leaders, who ruled Jammu & Kashmir for more than seventy years.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "Snowfall in Kashmir has once again brought to fore the fact that the successive regimes which were led by the Kashmir-centric leaders, failed to develop a system which could tackle the weather vagaries." He said, "Forget Jammu, these people couldn't do much for the people of Kashmir too. Their narrative revolved around Pakistan, separatists and terrorists. They never focused on governance."
The analyst said, "People of Jammu & Kashmir are paying a heavy price for the wrong policies of the Kashmir-centric parties that during all these years ran after the post of Chief Minister and wanted plump ministries in their kitty."
An observer said, "Had the Kashmir-centric leaders concentrated on making the life easy for the people of Jammu & Kashmir today things could have been different. They were under the impression that they can keep on taking people for a ride by preaching sedition and separatism but they stand exposed as on date." He said, "During the past seven decades Kashmir-centric leaders couldn't even come up with an alternative national highway which could have connected the Valley with rest of the country. They mismanaged the power projects which were set up in J&K. The long list of their failures is a blot on them. By misappropriating the funds which were sent by the centre during all these years they added insult to the injury."
He said, "During the past seventy years the Kashmir-centric leaders did not allow the grass root democracy to flourish in Jammu & Kashmir. None of the rulers tried to put Panchayati Raj system at place. Sarpanchs and Panchs who were elected when politicians were at the helm were toothless tigers as they were not given any powers."
Another analyst said, "Kashmir-centric leaders, who held the top posts, during all these years failed to put a system at place and remained busy in reaping the fruits of power. Despite entire country witnessing tremendous growth during the past 70 years, J&K has remained backward due to the lackadaisical attitude of the people at the helm. Their contribution has been nil and as on date they don't stand anywhere. Their popularity could be gauged from the fact when they were detained on 5 August no one came out on the streets to seek their release."
