Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 9: A senior leader of the Peoples Democratic Party from north Kashmir and his nephew, who is also a politician from the same party, are understood to be hobnobbing with the Bharatiya Janta Party.
Sources said the two groups came closer after a top BJP leader called on the family associated with the PDP and raised the issue of "opening communication channels for future course of action."
Sources said the meeting had lasted for around two hours after which the two parties agreed for the need to hold more such meetings.
Sources after a few more rounds of meetings, one of the senior PDP leaders flew to the national capital.
"It was only after this meeting that he also called on the visiting delegation of the European Union lawmakers," said a source in the know of the matter.
One insider close to the uncle-nephew duo linked to PDP said the two have agreed to revive political activities in the region "on some terms and conditions."
The developments, however, have not gone down well with the PDP leadership.
Sources said the PDP leaders recently called a meeting and unanimously resolved to decide about the "disciplinary action" that needs to be taken for the members who had called on the European Union delegation in the capital without taking a consent from that party.
Sources said it was decided that the matter would initially brought into the notice of the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti presently detained at a guesthouse in the CheshmaShahi. But as the government has denied them a meeting with the detained leader, the PDP leadership may take action in the coming days.
Very recently the PDP sacked one of its senior leaders and Member Parliament for his alleged anti-party activities.
Despite repeated attempts the two leaders couldn't be contacted for comments.
