| Director Horticulture reviews developmental activities | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: Director Horticulture Jammu Ram Savak chaired today reviewed the developmental activities being carried out across districts of Jammu division, here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Horticulture Development Officers of Jammu Division.
He stressed upon the Officers to put in full efforts to achieve physical as well as financial targets. He further advised the officers to make all the public sector nurseries more viable and produce quality planting material in departmental nurseries to achieve self-sufficiency in plant production.
He also impressed upon the officers to convene mass awareness programmes to aware the farmers about the state as well as centrally sponsored schemes, besides popularizing the Soil Testing Programme which has been launched to cover all the districts in a phased manner by pressing in Mobile Soil Testing Van. He said the fully equipped soil testing mobile van will be available to the farmers/ orchardists at their doorstep.
During the meeting, certain issues were raised by the officers, to which the Director gave a patient hearing and assured that all the genuine problems would be sorted out
