Jammu, Mar 3: The sleuths of Crime Branch Jammu on Tuesday arrested a fraudster for issuing fake and fabricated appointment orders in Military and Engineering Services (MES). The accused was identified as Sarup Lal of Allah, Arnia, residing in Bari Brahmana, Samba. According to the Crime Branch spokesperson, he was arrested for duping the unemployed youths fraudulently to the tune of Rs 12 lakhs in one case after inducing and luring them on the pretext of providing jobs in MES Headquarters, Srinagar. He said that the accused was evading his arrest since long by changing his locations frequently in Punjab, Chandigarh. "The Crime Branch team coordinated their efforts and arrested him from Pathankote area," he further said. He stated that the arrest was made based on a written complaint lodged by one Makhan Singh of Village Batoli Patair Tehsil Billawer District Kathua, at present Dogra Hall Jammu, Ranjit Singh of Tehsil Ramnagar District Udhampur, Sunil Singh of Ramnagar, District, Uhampur and Pardeep Kumar of District Udhampur for cheating and fraud committed by the above accused and other co-accused identified as Pawan Kumar of Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and is presently in Judicial custody. The spokesperson revealed that the accused Saroop Lal was a known and habitual fraudster and six other FIRs of similar nature were registered against him in Police Station Crime Branch Jammu. |
