JAMMU, Mar 4: District Industries Centre, Jammu today organised an awareness camp here at Marh to make the local unemployed youth aware about Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and various other industrial schemes being implemented by the department of Industries and Commerce for the promotion of industry. The awareness camp was organized by General Manager DIC Jammu, Subah Mehta, under the guidance of Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu, Anoo Malhotra. During the camp, prospective young entrepreneurs were informed about the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation programme (PMEGP) scheme. Under the scheme, the maximum cost of the project/unit admissible in manufacturing sector is Rs. 25 lakhs and it is Rs.10 lakhs in the Service sector, the participants were told. The general category male candidates are eligible for 15% subsidy in urban area and 25% in rural area, while Special category candidates (including SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minorities/Women, Ex-servicemen, Physically handicapped, Hill and Border areas, etc.) are eligible for 25% subsidy in urban areas and 35% subsidy in rural areas. |
