BARAMULLA, Mar 4: Two persons killed including a cop while as another police cop got injured in a militant attack in Warpora area of Sopore town in this north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday late evening.
Reports said that the militants opened fire upon the police party near Warpora police post, in which one Special Police Officer (SPO) died on spot and a two others including a civilian and a cop sustained bullet injuries.
However sources informed early times that the militants fired on SPOs in civvies near bus stand at Warpora Sopore, in which SPO Wajahat Ahmad and civilian Omar Subhan got killed on spot, while as SPO got injured, and he is under treatment.
All the three persons were immediately moved to the nearby hospital for advance treatment; among which a police cop and a civilian succumbed to their injuries while as another injured is under treatment.
Sources also said that, the area has been cordoned off by the security forces to nab the assailants, huge deployment has been put in place to nab the assailants as soon as possible, all the exit and entry points have been sealed.
