DB grants time to file status report of retrieved land
Eviction of 127 encroachers from forest land in Poonch

JAMMU, Mar 4: In a much publicized PIL regarding eviction of 127 encroachers from Poonch forest land, a Division Bench of J&K High Court comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Rajesh Bindal granted time to file status report regarding details of retrieved land and directed clubbed the matter with PIL NO 25/2017.
When the PIL came up for hearing, government Advocate Aijaz Lone appearing for the respondents sought time to file status report regarding details of land which has been retrieved from the encroachers.
DB granted time and directed Registry to list this PIL along with PIL No 25/2017.
It is worthwhile to mention here that earlier this Court had directed Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to ensure that all funds which are required for undertaking the removal of the encroachment in the Forest area at Poonch are provided to the DFO, Poonch immediately and further directed the DFO, Poonch as well as the SSP, Poonch shall place before this Court the minutes of the meeting and the action plan for removal of the encroachments within one week.
