‘Halwa’, ‘Chana’ replace ‘mishri’ as prasad for Vaishno Devi pilgrims | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4: Following the footsteps of prominent temples across the country, now devotees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi will get prasad in form of ‘halwa’ and ‘chana’ after offering prayers at a bhawan situated at Sanjhi Chat in Trikuta Hills of Katra town in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. The new prasad of ‘Halwa’ and ‘Chana’ is being served to thousands of pilgrims reaching to Bhawan on daily basis. The new Prasad has replaced ‘Mishri’ (crystallised sugar lumps), said an official of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. He said that the Prasad is served in the recently built Bhavan near Sanjichhat and is a round the clock 24x7 service for the devotees. ‘’Aim of starting this service is to bring the offerings of the Goddess to the devotees and at the same time to provide food to devotees reaching for darshan with small budget,’’ he added. |
