Govt must have stakeholders on Development Authorities: Raman Suri
3/14/2020 11:04:35 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri, while appreciating reconstitution of four Development Authorities namely Pahalgam Development Authority, Gulmarg Development Authority, Patnitop Development Authority and J&K Golf Development and Management Authority, with Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu as their Chairman, urged Government to explore possibility of having some invitees from travel, trade and tourism into these institutions as stakeholders so that they could also put forth their suggestions with regard to developing such beautiful tourist spots.
Raman Suri said, with LG as Chairman of these development authorities, the development of Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Patnitop and J&K Golf Course will increase manifolds and will bring more tourists to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in coming summers. He hopes that government will explore possibility of having some stakeholders into these authorities so that actual ground positions could be put before LG in subsequent meetings. He said that Patnitop and Golf Course in Jammu region need massive participation of people. While Patnitop is witnessing unplanned construction and cleanliness is missing from the scene, Golf course has been confined to a select few with actual players and children staying away from the field. Those who actually want to adopt golf as profession and play it professionally don't have access to the course at all.
