NC emphasises societal role in combating Coronavirus, supports governmental efforts

JAMMU, Mar 21: Lauding the people’s resolve to combat Coronavirus and efforts being made by the government to meet this unprecedented world-wide challenge, National Conference Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana today called for a collective societal response to defeat the dreaded virus.
“NC vehemently supports the efforts and response of the government and appeals to all to fight this calamity unitedly”. “A huge responsibility has cast upon the people as a community to foil the catastrophe without getting panicky in the wake of unprecedented situation”, said Mr Rana in a statement issued here from Sher e Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon.
While making passionate appeal to the administration for intensifying the sanitisation of most thronged public spaces and utility services, Mr Rana hoped the people will fight the life threatening epidemic with resilience and abide by the advisories issued from time to time. He called for further intensification awareness in far-off places hitherto and sanitization of the plying emergent public transport. Describing the pandemic as life threatening unless preventive measures are taken, Mr Rana called for societal response to deal with the situation, which may call for humanitarian help to such of the segments like vendors or daily earners that may find themselves forced to stay indoors. While treating the malady as medical emergency, some succour is needed to be provided to economically hit population, he added.
The Provincial President drew attention of the administration towards the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji pilgrims and travellers who might have got stranded saying they should be looked after well till the arrangements of their safe travel to home destinations are ensured.
