Baramulla, Apr 14: At a time when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi addressed the nation wherein he extended the lockdown till May 3, there is also a good news that many samples that were earlier sent for testing in SKIMS and elsewhere are turning negative. This has come as a sigh of relief for the doctors, paramedics, administration and common masses. According to sources patients are recovering in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. A good news came from Tangmarag and Uri from where 34 samples were sent to SKIMS for testing, but all turned negative. Twelve more persons could go home on Monday after completing quarantine period at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Mohra and Tourist Reception Center (TRC) Salamabad in Uri, said sources. Three more positive patients of Bandipora were discharged today after treatment and recovery tally of recovered patients now stands at 5, said DC Bandipora. The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara in a statement said that all samples from district tested negative today. Contact tracing and testing in Red Zones is being done and shall continue as a standard procedure. Lockdown restrictions shall continue in the present form till 3rd May, with relaxations for farmers and orchardists from 3pm to 5pm subject to social distancing measures, said DC Kupwara. It is also learnt that, 27800 masks were distributed, and Red Zone were also fumigated in Kupwara district of north Kashmir. District Administration Kupwara is making concerted efforts to combat with the deadly virus Covid-19 in the district. As many as 7 villages including Drugmulla, Manigah, Banghbella, Trehgam, Gomal, Dildar and ITI Handwara have been declared a Red Zones so for and all the entry and exit points have been sealed completely. According to an order that any movement in or out of the Red Zones remains prohibited except with specific permission issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara on the recommendation of Nodal Officer designated for Red Zones. The district administration also extended prohibitory orders till May 3, banning the inter district movement of people but eased restriction for Horticulture and Agricultural activities in the border district, said reports. |
