Municipal Council Kathua does fumigation in district Samba limits also | Fuel, fumigation cost seems no worry for MC Kathua | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 23: Apart from doing fumigation in the areas fall under its own jurisdiction, the Municipal Council Kathua has gone some extra miles to do fumigation in the areas, which fall under the limits of Municipal Committee of district Samba. The reason behind the over-enthusiasm of the Municipal Council Kathua to do fumigation is still unknown but it seemed that the cost of fuel, fumigation and the other expenses involved in the entire exercise is no worry for the Kathua Council, which was not the case otherwise. According to the video shared by a news portal on its Facebook page, the Chairman of the Block Council Ghagwal Vijay Tagotra could be watched giving an interview, explaining about the fumigation exercise done in various areas. The Gaghwal block falls under district Samba, and the men and machinery of Municipal Council Kathua did fumigation in Tapial Mandi, Sub Divisional Magistrate Office Ghagwal, Trauma Hospital Ghagwal, Jatwal, Narsing Dham Ghagwal. He could be listening mentioning that fogging and spray in these areas was done by the Municipal Council Kathua and he also hailed Chairman of MC Kathua for the exercise. Al these mentioned areas fall under the limits of District Samba, which has its separate Municipal bodies as well as administration, which is also involved in the fumigation but it was still unknown, whether it was a friendly gesture of MC Kathua Chairman or some other reason that fumigation exercise was done in the limits of Samba. “Fogging or spray exercise involves men and machinery as well as financial resources. Usually the small town Municipalities have limited funds due to which they have not been able to respond all the demands of their localities but the Municipal Council Kathua seems to be least worried about the financial resources,” a local said, adding that the MC Kathua should issue a white paper on the spending of funds on various exercises during the lockdown period such as fumigation, spray, fogging, distribution of ration, purchase of various type of resources during the lockdown. Executive Officer of Municipal Council Kathua Sanjeev Gandotra said that they had gone to Hiranagar area for fumigation and fogging in the areas, where a new COVID-positive patient was detected. “While returning, some people had requested for fumigation in a temple, so the Chairman had accepted only on their demand,” he said. |
