Khajuria urges PM for initiating steps to make India leading economy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 23: Sukesh C Khajuria, an eminent social activist has requested the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take five bold steps to put India as a leading economy of the world and take on the challenge posed by the corona virus pandemic and the resultant slowdown of the world economy. Khajuria said that the recent worldwide circumstances will be a turning point in the history of the world and India could rapidly move ahead by learning appropriate ‘lessons’ and with a ‘Nation First’ policy. Elaborating on his suggestions, Sukesh C.Khajuria said that foremost requirement for India is to make it corruption free. He said that India has been ranked at 80th position among 180 countries and territories in the corruption perception index (CPI) prepared by transparency International. He further said that another major reform that is needed pertains to work culture both in the government as well as in the private sector. “There is need for work culture amongst government functionaries with sincere efforts and proper scientific work audit to appreciate good workers and identify the short comings for constant improvements,” he said. He said that the present circumstances after the outbreak of Corona Virus from China has given an advantage to India with nearly 200 US companies seeking to move manufacturing base from China to India. Korean companies like Hyundai, Samsung, LG etc are also keen to move out of China. The Japanese companies are keen to move out of China as a part of the de-risking strategy. The Japanese government is learnt to have spent nearly $2 billion to relocate companies out of China. Sukesh Khajuria said that this opportunity should be used and these companies should be offered non-agriculture lands for setting up their plants. Giving his suggestion on making democracy strong and avoiding trouble to common masses. He asked the Prime Minister Modi to draft new legislation to change the ways of protest for making India strong. He said that protests are necessary in a vibrant democracy but should not hinder others. Khajuria also called upon the Prime Minister to take adequate measures to cut unproductive and extravagant government expenditures so that money could be used for public good. |
