ACB teams conduct spot visits to probe irregularities of MC Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, May 19: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) North Kashmir conducted spot visit at District Ganderbal in connection with investigation of Case FIR No. 07/2018, 08/2018,09/2010 and 10/2018.
These FIRs have been lodged on the basis of outcome of joint surprise check conducted into the allegations that Municipal Committee (MC) Ganderbal is engaged in malpractices and are allowing huge structures on roads against hefty amounts, which revealed that huge multi storied buildings/ column structures have illegally been erected adjacent to new Hospital Road Check Doderhama, Ganderbal.
ACB had received reports about these illegal constructions being carried out in district Ganderbal wherein various government functionaries have been involved in illegal favours to various beneficiaries and the concerned revenue officials have been in conspiracy with many private officials who are either managing fake NoCs or conniving with the revenue officials and managing to get fictitious/fudged revenue extracts. The revenue officials at many instances have been seen in fudging records during the course of investigation of these FIRs.
The joint Surprise Check conducted by the team of ACB officers had also revealed during the inspection that various building permissions have been issued by the then Executive officers of MC Ganderbal Anees Ahmad Choudhary and Abdul Mateen Baba who by way of abuse of their official positions in league with the then field Khalifwarzi Assistants of ward Doderhama Ganderbal namely Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, Riyaz Ahmad Tantray and Siraj-ud-din Mir under a well knitted conspiracy with the beneficiary owners namely Dr Manzoor Ahmad Tantary and Bashir Ahmad Tantray sons of Ab Khaliq Tantray, Bashir Ahmad Tantray and Manzoor Ahmad Tantray sons of Gh Mohammad and Mahbooba have fraudulently issued in their favour in violation of BOCA norms and rules on the basis of fake NOCs and have allowed the beneficiaries to construct huge complex type structures in violation of approved building permission.
The ACB team accompanied by officials of MC Ganderbal and Revenue Department conducted the physical inspection and measurements were taken on spot by the engineering team of the Bureau of these illegal structures. Further investigation of the case is going on.
