| Despite Tuesday’s faux pas, authorities yet to ascertain +ve cases of Poonch | | |

Jammu, May 19: Although district administration of Poonch has issued clarification to undermine embarrassment faced by the authorities after two Corona patients were called back on way to hospital for treatment, it is yet not cleared who had tested positive and who was negative on Monday.
Instead of singling out all the positive patients, authorities have put all the four suspects in isolation as administration has failed to identify who among them were tested negative.
As reported in a section of media, confusion gripped on Monday when two persons including a Community Health Centre (CHC) Surankote employee declared positive for COVID-19 in the morning were recalled in the afternoon when they were on way to GMC, Rajouri for treatment as their code numbers didn’t match with the reports. Tests of four suspects were conducted and two were tested positive. Though names of the persons were almost similar, there was confusion of about their codes all of them were tested again today.
Meanwhile administration issued a clarification to undermine the faux pas. “There was some miscommunication regarding the exact identity of the persons due to the same name. To clarify the issue and to avoid any risk of infection,all the four persons have been isolated and are being tested again today on 19.05.2020 as a precautionary measure”, administration mentioned.
It is important to highlight here that necessary steps are being taken to identify and isolate the contacts of all four persons in quarantine centers. |
