Jammu, May 27: Seeking his personal intervention, ex-MLC and senior leader, J&K Apni Party, Syed Asgar Ali today appealed Lt Governor Girish Chander Murmu to allow smooth migration of nomads with their live stocks, and cattle without any further delay towards the postures in upper reaches. In a statement, Asgar said, “The process of issuing No Objection Certificates (NoC) should expedite so that the nomads get permission as early as possible and shift to the postures in upper reaches.” The seasonal migration of nomads including Gujjars and Bakkerwals to the winter areas with the onset of summers is important because hot weather conditions have posed threat to the lives of their live-stocks and cattle. “Hot summers will lead to the loss of live stocks, and cattle,” he apprehended, adding that the nomads are dependent upon their cattle and if they die, the nomads will face starvation like situation. |
