EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 27: All India Confederation of SC/ ST/ OBC Organisations, has demanded representation to these communities in the proposed Advisory Council/Adhoc Ministry. Addressing a press conference here today, the state president of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations, RK Kalsotra, flanked by Joginder Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Shafi Bajjad and Lakshman Bhagat said that in order to seek representation for the SC, ST and OBCs in the proposed Advisory Council/Adhoc Ministry the organization has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lt Governor of J&K G C Murmu. Kalsotra said that he learnt through various sources about the proposal for formation of Advisory Council/Adhoc Ministry in J&K and the arbitrary and discretionary manner in which the members were being selected for the same. Kalsotra said that it has been a long pending demand of the confederation to include SC/ST members in the State Administration Council but no heed was paid to the demand. SC/STs have been denied administration positions, although due representation has been envisioned by the Constitution of India. Thus, he said that the confederation demands adequate representation of at least one SC and one ST Member in the proposed Advisory Council/Adhoc Ministry so that a platform can be given to redress the grievances of SC/ST community. |
