JAMMU, June 10: National online essay competition was organized by the Eco Club of GDC Ramgarh in collaboration with the Department of EVS on the eve of World Environmental Day. Students of different colleges and universities from all over India especially Cluster University of Jammu and Universal Group of Institutions, Chandigarh sent entries in the event. The topic of the essay writing competition was 'Save Environment Save Earth'. The word limit was 250. The ideas shared by participants included Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle; to volunteer for keeping surroundings clean; educate stakeholders and conserve water to name a few. Aniket Gupta, GDC Udhampur clinched the first position. There was a tie for second position between Sonia Sharma, GDC Udhampur and Anmol Sharma, GDC Bishnah. Preeti Rasgotra, GCW Gandhi Nagar got third position. The essays were adjudged by Prof. Neha Bhagat, GDC Hiranagar and Prof. Poonam Kundan, GDC Udhampur renowned environmentalist. |
