Sunderbani ICDS helpers, workers without salary for months | Affected seek LG Murmu’s intervention | | AB Sharma
Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 10: Amid Covid-19 crises, scores of workers and helpers of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) here in Sunderbani are without salary for the last many months. Sources said the ICDS employees like helpers and workers get their salary only after concerned supervisor and sarpanch get their attendance verified. While the helpers and workers attend their duties regularly, the problem is from the side of their superiors. “Even though there is no shortage of funds the problem is created due to fact the concerned supervisors remain absent and thus are not able to coordinate with the concerned sarpanchs in time and thus the salary of these poor employees remains affected,” said the sources. They said the salary of poor employees has been affected even though they have been working continuously even in the wake of the deadly pandemic. Sources said what has added to the problem of the workers and helpers is that the concerned Child Department Project Office Shalini Kumari has not be attending her duties regularly. “There is no shortage of funds from the Modi government side but the problem is being created by the seniors who don’t attend their duties properly,” said a senior official. Despite repeated attempts the concerned CDPO couldn’t be contacted for comments. Meanwhile the affected helpers and workers have appealed Lieutenant governor to personally look into the matter. |
