Councilor protests against poor water supply 6/16/2020 9:42:31 PM Early times report Udhampur, June 15: Municipal Councillor, Preeti Khajuria of Ward number-1 and senior Congress leader, Ashwani Khajuria here today staged a protest demonstration against the jal shakti (formerly PHE ) Department claiming poor water supply in the town. Talking to reporter the protesting the Congress leader said that public of Udhampur is suffering the apathy of PHE Department as there is very poor water supply in the town in this scorching summer days and maximum pipes of the area are leak but concern authorities employees failed to repairing the pipes . Preeti Khajuris said that the matter has been brought into the notice of concerned officers many times but all remained in-vain . One side centre as well as union territory of Jammu and Kashmir advised to public for hand wash after every 20 minutes due to threat of deadly corona virus pandemic , who is it possible if water not available here , she added When contacted XEN jal Shakti department udhampur Mohd Taj alleged that the Councillor is creating hindrances and not allowing PHE department to lay pipes in the area to pass water supply to other Wards as she says that the department should first fulfill the water requirement of her Ward. “There is always water crisis in summers but still we manage to provide water to all the people in the town,” he maintained adding that the people should judiciously use the water in these days.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
