Ambulance driver drops two delivery case patients midway | | | M S Nazki Early Times Report
POONCH, June 16: Incomplete transportation of new born baby and mother caused panic when an ambulance driver dropped two delivery operated patients away from their homes. The news reached that both delivery case patients were picked up from District Hospital Poonch. One was to be dropped at Tota Gali and other was just ahead. Shabnaz Akhter W/O Waqar Ahmed Khan R/O Galuta Mendhar was under treatment in District Hospital Poonch from last few days and was operated upon for her delivery. She was discharged from hospital on Tuesday and was provided an ambulance as a mode of transportation. However, the patient was brought upto Jaran Wali Gali and left midway with ambulance driver not ready to move forward and returned after dropping the patient midway. The patient was later taken up to home through a private Tata sumo during the lockdown and second patient reached home by foot. Superintendent District Hospital Poonch Dr. Shahmim Bhatti said that shortage of ambulance was felt and it was so sad the inquiry be ordered as per law. He also said that one ambulance driver has tested positive for Covid-19 and second one is under observation too.
