Rajouri, June 16: The alert sleuths of Forest Protection Force on Monday foiled a timber smuggling bid and intercepted a truck laden with timber logs in Kalakote area of Rajouri.
Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri division, Sanjay Gupta, who is also holding the additional charge of Assistant Director of Forest Protection Force, said fhat a team of Forest Department Force headed by Deputy Inspector Kalakote, Satish Kumar alongwith Vinod Sharma and other officials received an information and intercepted a truck at Salyar Chata on Kalakote Moughla road.
“ During frisking, truck was found loaded with a number of timber logs which were being smuggled illegally.” DFO said. He added that truck has been seized and its confiscation process has been initiated.
