Grant financial relief to MSMEs to compensate losses: FOIJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 16: A meeting of the Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) was held today under the leadership of its chairman Lalit Mahajan to discuss the issues related to acute financial problem being faced by Industrial sector of J&K due to lockdown imposed by government since 25th March. Rattan Dogra, Jitender Aul, Deepak Dhawan Co-Chairmen and other Executive Committee Members of the Federation of Industries Jammu were also present during the meeting. It is worthwhile to mention here that the Micro & Small Sector units of the Jammu & Kashmir are suffering very badly due to closure/partial functioning of Units since 25th March 2020 due to It is pertinent to mention here that keeping in mind all the facts in post COVID-19 situation, a Task force has been constituted by Govt to provide the immediate relief to the Industrial Sector, Tourism, Hotel Industry, Hospitality Sector with the timeline for the submission of recommendations by 15th May 2020 by the said committee but till date no relief is provided to the Industrial Sector of J&K in spite of numbers of representations given by FOIJ, in respect of waiver of minimum/fixed demand charges/reimbursement of salary/wages for the lockdown period, waiver of bank interest on working capital/ term loan, resulting great resentment amongst the MSME Sector of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. FOIJ wished to draw the attention of Lt Governor of the Sate that several states have already provided the relief to the Industrial Sector by Waiving off Minimum/Fixed Demand charges and other reliefs for the Lockdown period but no such relief is provided in J&K in-spite of assurances given by the Administration from time to time.
