JAMMU, June 24: CJM Samba Ajay Kumar Gupta today awarded one and half years imprisonment and fine Rs 9000 in an assault case to Kasturi Lai, son of Bua Ditta, resident of Shadni Rakh Abtal Tehsil and District, Samba who was facing trial u/s 323/325 RPC.
CJM Samba Ajay Gupta after hearing APP Anil Saini for the UT whereas Adv Rajinder Bhagat for the accused person observed that accused is sentenced to imprisonment for a period of six months and a fine of Rs 1000 for an offence under section 323 RPC. The accused is further sentenced to imprisonment for a period of one year and a fine of Rs 4000 for the offence under section 325 RPC. In default of payment of total fine of Rs 5000, the accused shall further undergo a simple imprisonment for a period of two months. Both the sentences imposed upon the accused shall run concurrently.
