EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 24: Making a startling revelation of sheer violation in rationalization of teachers’ deployment in government schools across JK UT, the Principal Secretary School Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon through his tweet made a veiled attack on the both the directorates of the regions for creating such a mess in the department.
Secretary expressed his serious concern over the continuous degrading condition of the education system in government schools across the JK UT.
In his tweet, he mainly pointed out towards the twin capitals which have become a shelter home for influential teachers, which has created huge fissure between teachers-students ratio.
Astonishingly, while giving some shocking stats of teachers- student ratio in Srinagar district, which indicates the violation of rationalize deployment of teachers by the concerned authorities, he also pointed out the same situation for Jammu, which he termed more serious and worse than Srinagar.
On his twitter handle, the Secretary said, “In Srinagar city, 4000 teachers teach 20,000 children in Government schools upto class 10th. Situation is more acute for Jammu city; need to rationalize deployment so that every school gets optimum number of teachers and surplus teachers are shifted to adjoining deficit districts’ ‘, which means one teacher for five students, which is totally against the rationalization norms.
The tweet was directly indicating the mismanagement created by the both Directorates, which despite repeated directions from the secretary have failed to set the things right.
This is not the first time that the Secretary School Education has highlighted such serious issues within the department, even in his earlier tweets he took authorities of both the regions under his attack for malpractices, mismanagement which are going on in the department.
It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times has many a times highlighted the issue of violation of teachers-students ratio in many government schools in Jammu district.
