Councillor, others stage protest against JMC Mayor | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 24: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councilor Amit Gupta along with Bus Stand Shopkeeper Association President Ramesh Tak and residents of Chopra Ahatta today staged a protest demonstration against Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and JMC officials for ignoring them while reviewing ongoing construction work on Nallah at Chopra Ahatta falling in Ward-19. Amit Gupta while addressing the media on the occasion said that it is totally injustice with the concerned Councilor at the end of Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and Officials of JMC who have suddenly visiting Chopra Ahatta of Ward -19 where ongoing work of construction of Nallah is being done. "Jammu Mayor's visit in my area is just to ignoring the problems and demands being faced by the residents of Ahatta that too without my knowledge which has compelled me to force staging protest against them for violating norms of Municipal Act," he alleged. Bus Stand Jammu Shopkeeper Association President Ramesh Tak in his address said, "There is uncertainty and resentment among the residents of Chopra Ahatta over Jammu Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta who have visited the spot of Nallah construction without consulting concerned Councilor Amit Gupta which is gross violation." "Amit Gupta is responsible and elected Councilor of Ward-19, and bound to address issues and demands including problems being faced by the residents of his Jurisdiction and is accountable for everything. Administration should take Jammu Mayor as accountable for this unlawful act against elected Councilor," he said. |
