| JKESTW calls on Excise Comm | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, July 24: JKESTW Society & Allied Association Executive called on Excise Commissioner Rajesh Shavan today in his office chamber and shared with him various aspects of working of department. The members were lead by its President Rtd. DC Excise Vijay Sharma along with ML Sharma Ex. DC SK Sharma Rtd. DC , RK Khajuria Jt. Secy. of Society. During the course of interactions with EC the members highlighted about 50% hike in Excise and Licensing policy of the Govt. which per Rajesh Shavan would be as per Excise policy of 2020-21& according to norms laid down as per Excise Act & Rules and Govt. consideration of JKUT in the light of Tourism Potential of union Territory and need of revenue.
As regard 50% hike in Excise levied during lockdown period he assured same is under consideration of the Govt. and recommendation in this regard stood made but the decision has to be taken by the Govt. various other issues on working of the department were shared by Executive Committee members and the same was appreciated by both EC & Members. The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere over a cup of tea .President Sharma offered EC the membership of Society which he gladly accepted. |
