JKReTTF holds meeting, demands restoration of OPS | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, July 26: Demanding restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for all government employees of the Union Territory, the J&K ReT Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) warned that if the OPS is not reintroduced then the Forum will launch a crusade. The demand was raised in a meeting held here today chaired by senior vice chairman of the Forum, Bhupinder Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh said that if MPs and MLAs are in Old Pension Scheme then why not employees of J&K appointed after 1.1.2010? Singh appealed all NPS Employees in general and Teaching fraternity in particular to remain united to fight for restoration of OPS in coming days. Singh appealed to Lieutenant Governor to restore Old Pension Scheme in favour of Grade II and Grade III teachers and all employees working in different departments of UT Jammu and Kashmir who are appointed after 1.1.2010 and particularly in favour of Grade II and Grade III teachers appointed before 1.1.2010 as ReTs as these teachers are also deprived of the benefits of Old Pension Scheme. HE also appealed the District Presidents and Zonal Presidents of Forum to speed up the membership drive at their respective Districts and Zones respectively. Meanwhile, other problems of teachers including pending salary arrears, pending conversion files of RReTs to Grade II and Grade III and pending regularization files of the teachers were also raised.
