Jammu, July 26: Chairman, National Sikh Front, S. Varinderjeet Singh, in a statement, has termed the book titled ‘We The Sikhs’ authored by great cricketer Kapil Dev, as a splendid gift to the Sikh community from this legend. S. Varinderjeet Singh said that the books have no expiry dates and they become treasures for the future generations. This book having compilation of details related to The Gurus, The History and Artifacts and Gurudwaras is the outcome of more than four years of hard work by Kapil Dev, who travelled to prominent Gurudwaras in India as well as various countries where Sikhs are settled in large numbers and gathered information regarding the Gurudwaras, the Sikh culture and social services being rendered to the needy and poor without any discrimination of religion or region. It contains history and the supreme sacrifices of Sikhs right from the day this religion came into existence. “While Kapil Dev deserves appreciation for bringing out . ‘We The Sikhs’, all those persons in India and abroad, who have contributed directly or indirectly in this noble and religious service, too should be applauded. He expressed hope that the book will find place in every Sikh family and those who want to know about the Sikhism.
