UDHAMPUR, July 29: Alleging failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) in providing adequate water supply to them, the residents of village Sambal, Sui, Vinayak Colony today held a massive protest (Thali Baja Kar) against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.
Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, Chairman Jan Sangharsh Sastha and along with locals of Sambal and Sui area protested against PHE Department.
The protestors raised slogans against the PHE Department and District administration Udhampur they alleged that no regular supply of drinking water for many years, people of the area were suffering and their normal life was also getting affected and with the sound of plates (Thali Baja Kar). The protesters Sanjeet Bavouria said that many times brought the matter into the notice of the concerned authorities but all remained in vain for many years, locals demanding to lay a water pipeline in this area but till date no action.
“Even we have staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date and Sometimes PHE departments supply drinking water from water tanks but locals totally dependent natural water source the water supply is still extremely poor as it used to be, making people face the worst,” they said. Others attend the protest, Shobha Devi, Yashpal, Sanjay Kumar, Thakur Das, Ishwardas, Hemraj Sharma, Sahil Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Raj Kumar, Amit Pathania and Ramesh Chand.
