Balwant Nagar, Udhaywala residents flay JMC for baseless claims of Nallah cleaning | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Residents of Balwant Vihar, Udhaywala ward no 61, Jammu today flayed the Jammu Municipal Corporation for what they termed as tall and baseless claims regarding nallah cleaning. Although JMC claimed at so many occasions that the cleaning of water bodies like seasonal nallahs and deep drains has been successfully done by transport section of JMC and successfully completed de-silting exercise well before onset of monsoon season but the fact remains that the cleaning of water drainage system of Jammu city has not been conducted properly and many vulnerable nallahs have been kept unattended in many low lying areas of JMC, they said. They further alleged that in the very first rainfall of the monsoon all the tall claims of JMC turnout to be false and baseless as the water overflowed in many nallahs and entered the houses of local people, thereby causing lot of inconvenience to the life and property of general public. “In the last four months three CTO's have been changed by JMC and now charge is handed over to a recently joined AEE, mechanical and there are so many questions to be answered by JMC administration that under what circumstances such a sensitive post which involve de-silting of entire drainage system with in JMC limits has been subjected to ad-hoc arrangements specially when monsoon was just round the corner”, they alleged. |
