| Veteran Journalist Fida Kishtwari felicitated | | |

Kishtwar, Aug 16: Veteran Journalist, author, writer, historian Abdul Rashid Mughal alias Fida Kishtwari was today felicitated by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara on the eve of 74th Independence Day. DC Kishtwar along with senior officials of District Administration visited the house of 82 year old ailing Fida Kishtwar at Gudhali Chowk in the heart of Kishtwar town and personally presented a certificate, trophy and a medal to him for his meritorious services in various fields including Journalism. Fida Kishtwar is the author of several books in Urdu and Kashmir including Fikr-e-na-Tamam, History of Kishtwar ka Jaiza are some of his famous books written by him. He is also a reknowned poet and is known for his poetry work. He is the pioneer of journalism in eeriest while Doda District and was instrumental in bringing the journalism to this remote part of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and highlighted various public and social related issues during 80s and 90s. Meanwhile Fida Kishtwari has expressed gratitude to District Administration for recognition of his services added that even though late. He said that he feel happy that incumbent DC Kishtwar visited his home and personally honoured him. |
