Jammu, Aug 16: National Sikh Front has appealed to Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan, to immediately hand over Sikh girl Jagjit Kour of Shri Nankana Sahib to her parents. National Front Chairman, S. Varinderjit Singh, elaborated that about one year ago, daughter of the head of Nankana Sahib Gurudwara, Miss Jagjit Kaur, was kidnapped by a local Muslim boy. After protests by her family members, the court registered her statement but she was not allowed to meet her parents. The girl had clearly stated that she wanted to go to her family and live with them but the court rejected her wish and put her in jail. Now after one year, the Court has given its verdict that the girl should not be handed over to her parents as they may kill her and hence let her live with the boy who had kidnapped her. The parents of Jagjit Kour have even given a written assurance of not hurting her as she is their own daughter but of no use. S. Varinderjit Singh said that history is witness to the fact that Sikhs have always on fore front in helping the people without discrimination of religion and caste but unfortunately today none from the society is coming forward for the help of the Sikh girl. He reminded the Kashmir Muslims that be it floods of 2014 or the COVID-19 restrictions, the Sikhs has rescued and helped hundreds of even Muslim families. The Kashmiri Muslims should ask Pakistan PM to hand over the Sikh girl to her parents. |
