Jammu, Aug 16: Apprehending the sale of illicit liquor during weekend lockdown and to curb the menace of illicit liquor distillation and illegal smuggling of liquor from neighbouring states Excise Team on the directions of Excise Commissioner,J&K, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, KAS and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner( Executive) Jammu, S. Amarjeet Singh, KAS, today conducted series of raids in saidgarh, kothe bulande, karyal and Tinde khurd. 56 bottles of illicit liquor was siezed and destroyed on spot. Besides, five persons were booked under section 48 of the Excise Act. The excise team was led by ETO Excise Range, Jammu South Rafie Naik, comprising Excise inspectors Ashwani Sharma, Gagandeep singh, Mukul sharma and excise sub inspectors Rohit Chib, Gaourav,Gulshan and excise guard Ajay sharma.
