| Sainik School Nagrota celebrates ‘Vanmahotsava’ | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 25: Sainik School Nagrota commemorated its historic Golden Jubilee – 50th Raising Day. As part of the celebration, saplings and tree plantation was carried out within the School Campus by the Officers, Staff and Families of SSN.
Shahbaz Alam, In-charge Eco Club coordinated the event by arranging about 150 saplings of different varieties of ornamental plants and fruit trees from State Department of Social Forestry for this event. After the plantation drive, the Principal, Captain (IN) Vikrant Kishore mentioned that this noble deed of planting trees is the constitutional duty of every citizen and added that only the young generation with sound environmental awareness can save our environment from increasing threats of pollution.
He reiterated that every individual has a stake in protecting this unique planet and that this year’s focus will be to develop the ambience of the hostels in the campus.
In another five years time, the campus will definitely improve environmentally and become a much greener campus and contribute in containing Global Warming, which is a great threat to our Mother Earth.
