CLUJ organizes national webinar on women issues | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 25: The department of Commerce of School of Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu organised a national webinar on the theme, “Issues and Challenges of Women in Indian Society during Covid-19 scenario” to commemorate Women’s equality day. The Department is in continuation of webinar series on empowering women, Violence and Crime against Women, Gender sensitization in Health-related issues and Legal literacy. Prof. Dr. Manoj K Dhar, Vice Chancellor Cluster University of Jammu graced the occasion as the chief guest. Prof. Dhar highlighted the gender equality and considered women as eyes and ears of the society. The keynote speaker Nayana Sahasrabhudhe is an eminent personality in the field of gender studies and vice President, Bhartiya Stree Shakti. The panellists were the female activists at local and national levels. Among the notable speakers were, Professor Regunath Parakkal, distinguished Psychologist from Kerala who is also the vice-president of International Human Right and Social Justice Federation, and Pratima N. Lakra, advocate of Supreme Court of India. The speakers highlighted the need of physical, social and mental well-being of women, who constitute fifty percent of total human resource in our society. Dean, Humanities and Liberal Arts, Prof. Geetanjali Rana, was the guest of honour at the national webinar. Earlier, Prof. Sindhu Kapoor welcomed the distinguished guest and introduced the theme. The online event was graced by all the senior administrative functionaries of the Cluster University of Jammu. The delegates across the nation had participated in it. Dr. Sumeet Kour acted as the moderator and Dr. Waseem Rashid presented formal vote of thanks. |
