DDC reviews implementation of beneficiary oriented programs

DODA, Aug 27: District Development Commissioner, Doda, Dr Sagar D Doifode today chaired a meeting of key officials of different departments and reviewed the implementation of various beneficiary oriented schemes in the district.
Reviewing the implementation of welfare programs, the DDC asked the Social Welfare Department to lay special focus on the 100% coverage of eligible persons under social security schemes.
It was informed that around 21713 eligible persons are receiving old age pension under NSAP & ISSS in the district, while 4615 widows and 9392 specially abled person’s are also getting pension benefits under different schemes.
The DDC directed the SWD to sanction old age pension in favour of pending beneficiaries within next 2 days and write to all the Sarpanchs today itself to seek names of leftout widows above the age of 40 to bring them under pension scheme.
Regarding Adhaar linkage, the DDC directed the department to take up the matter with the lead bank manager on priority for 100% adhaar linkage of bank accounts of all beneficiaries in a fixed time frame. While reviewing the implementation of PMMVY, the DDC directed the PO, ICDS to expedite the registration process and achieve the set targets in the current financial year without any fail. He asked to mobilize their field staff for 100% achievement of the target.
Regarding availability of ration in the Anganwadi centres, the DDC was informed that 9939 quintal of rice, received from the FCS& CA department, has been distributed across the centre’s, while around Rs 90 lakh has been incurred till date by the PRIs on the purchase of other essential food items. The DDC directed the concerned to submit the list of Panchayats to his Office, who have not yet made any expenditure in connection with the purchase of essential food items. He further directed to ensure that the purchasing was completed in at the earliest without any fail.
Reviewing the disbursement of scholarships, the DDC directed the CEO to furnish the list of SC students to the SWD for immediate sanctioning of scholarships in favour of eligible students. He also directed to re-verify the data of physically challenged students in the district so that all of them get the scholarship.
