ASKPC pay tributes to Raina

Jammu , Aug 27: Rich tributes were paid to Advocate Ravinder Raina, the incumbent President of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference, who left this mortal world on 20th August, untimely after a brief illness. Expressing his condolences in the Shradanjali meeting held by ASKPC today in ASKPC Bhawan attended by a select gathering due to Covid SOP, Vijay Bakaya Ex Chief Secretary & MLC described late Advocate Raina as a selfless & dedicated community leader & social activist, who from his youth was actively associated with various KP social organizations, serving the cause of the minority community. He recalled that the late ASKPC president volunteered to provide the basic infrastructural facilities to the community youth for Civil services preparation, initiated by ex-administrators for the KP youth. The Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner T.K. Bhat said ASKPC & the community has lost a genuine activist who has KP cause very dear to his heart. He implored upon the audience to follow the path & directions set by all the ex-leaders of ASKPC, which in itself would be the true Shradanjali to the departed leaders. Advocate Kashmiri Lal on behalf of PNBMT described the ex-ASKPC president as a veteran lawyer & a fine human being besides being a true community well-wisher. The meeting was organized by Dr T.K. Bhat General Secretary of ASKPC, who recalled Advocate Raina’s contribution to ASKPC whether by carrying forward the legacy of the earlier stalwarts, organizing social & religious functions for the migrant community, managing donations for the community & the ASKPC, reaching out to the academic needs of the community youth & a host of other contributions. The interim president of ASKPC R.K. Wangnoo paid floral tributes to the departed & said that Advocate Raina’s passing away was a personal loss to him & such an honest person was hard to replace.
The Whole Executive Body of ASKPC including C.L. Bhat, Prof. Bhan, Tej Pandita, S.K. Raina, Smt. Veena Gurtoo Women Wing President & Ravi Ji Youth Wing President, Sunil Bhat, Smt. Daisy Bhat, Ravinder Razdan, B.L. Wantoo , Shadi Lal Muju, R.L.Koul & others paid homage to the departed. A two minutes’ silence was observed & Shanti prayer was recited in memory of the departed leader.
