Kishtwar hospital shut after senior doctor tested COVID positive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, Aug 27: The authorities in Kishtwar District has decided to shut the District Hospital Kishtwar for next 24 hours following a senior doctor, who overwhelmingly played frontline role during COVID pandemic tested positive along with his wife. As per the details available with Early Times, only emergency services will remain functional in the hospital while rest of the services including OPD will start only after sanitization of the hospital complex including that of the office of the Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar. After the senior doctor tested positive, the authorities have decided to conduct the rapid test of all the close contacts including the family members who had reportedly found negative, however, the administration has put all the close contacts into quarantine till their repeat samples are collected. The hospital staff and other doctors posted at the District Hospital Kishtwar will also have to undergo for the random testing and all are advised to take every precautionary measures to avoid close contact with the patients as well as with general public. As per official data released by the government of Jammu and Kashmir, Kishtwar District had 24 active positive cases as of now while 184 patients including six today have been fully recovered from COVID disease and were sent back to home. |
