AAP demands compensation, resettlement of flood affected people | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 27: Aam Aadmi Party Jammu and Kashmir demanded compensation and resettlement of heavy rain and landslide affected Gurmeet Singh AAP leader and social activist demanded that adequate compensation should be paid to the people affected by the heavy rain, water logging and Landslides. He said that the J&K became venice after the monsoon rains. Waterlogging was reported from several areas in Jammu and other cities of J&K. He alleged that there was waterlogging on roads and lane as the government agencies did not desilt drains. The AAP leaders also demanded that the heavy rain affected people should be resettled properly. He said that heavy rains have created havoc in many areas of the state and have resulted in loss of life , house and property. People of Jammu facing lot of problems after heavy rainfall due to excessive amount of water enters in their homes. He said that people residing in rain and landslide affected areas should be shifted to safer places. The government should pay compensation to people whose houses and others property were damaged due to heavy rainfall, landslide and waterlogging. He urged the state government to release compensation for the affected peoples.
