JKTA urges LG to resolve issues of teacher fraternity | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir Ret Teachers Jammu division changed its nomenclature to Teachers Association Jammu (TAJ) and this decision has taken by State Executive Members of Jammu division. This was informed by Provincial President of JKReTTF, Pawan Kumar Verma in a press conference here on Thursday. “This step has been taken in the backdrop of government's decision to close ReTs Scheme and to convert regularized ReTs to Teachers Grade II and Teachers III,” Pawan Kumar told reporters. Pawan also said that Teachers Association Kashmir (TAK) is already functioning in Kashmir division and both TAJ and TAK will work jointly in Union Territory of J&K and named as Jammu Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA). Apart from this, he said, the Zonal, District and Executive members of Jammu as well as Kashmir unanimously elected Bhupinder Singh as President of JKTA and Shah Fayaz will continue as Chairman of the Forum. Members of forum congratulated Bhupinder Singh for becoming President of JKTA. Bhupinder Singh, while taking to reporters, expressed his commitments to uphold the dignity of teachers and would come up to the expectations of the teaching fraternity. Bhupinder also appealed Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of J&K to restore Old Pension Scheme in favour of Teachers Grade II and Grade III engaged before January 1, 2010, release arrears of 7th Pay Commission of Grade II and Grade III from 2016, continue the services of specific subject teachers, Transfer Policy in favour of 3rd Teachers, Grade II and Grade III and inclusion of five years service. State Legal Advisor Akhtar Abbass, Provincial Vice President Tirath Singh,Provincial General Secretary Surjeet Singh,were also present in the press conference. |
