Mayor reviews situation of City

Jammu, Aug 27: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor, JMC conducted an extensive tour of various localities of ward 52, 53, 57, 55 and took stock of the situation arisen due to heavy rainfall during the past two days.
At Extension Trikuta Nagar area near Easy Day store, Ajajy Gupta Councilor of ward 52 alongwith Kulbhwan Magotra and other prominent leaders of BJP were also accompanied by the Mayor during the tour. He also visited other areas of City which includes Mohalla Dilli (Ext Channi Himmat) and its surrounding areas near JP World School, Model Town Gangyal, Preet Nagar, Digiana etc.
Keera Singh, Rakesh Singh Charak and others were also present here. Mayor was apprised by the locals that about 3 to 5 ft has been entered in the lanes and also in some houses of these localities which has caused great damage to the valuable household items of the residents of the locality.
Mayor gave then patient hearing and assured that he alongwith all the Municipal Councilors are committed to serve the people of Jammu City in all aspects for the last two years as soon as were elected in the year Oct 2018 and appeal to the General Public to co-operate with JMC and all the other allied departments in removing the encroachments done on the Nallahas which is also one of the reasons for overflowing these Nallahas during rainy season as most of the Nallahas which were earlier 50 ft wide has now converted into small ones with 5 to 10 ft width.
He also assured that he has personally talked with all the concerned departments i.e. ERA, UEED who have taken the job of remodeling / construction of the Nallahas under AMRUT or any other Schemes for taking concrete measures taking into confidence with all their technical staff so that in future water may not enter into residential area and they will visit and sit together every fortnight in all the affected areas of City where this alarming situation has arisen will remove all the remedies / drawbacks in consultation with Chief Engineers of their Departments by taking into confidence the elected representatives of the respective wards as well as locals and he will himself monitor all the activities / feedback of all the concerned departments alongwith Commissioner, JMC so that the people may not be get affected and face hardships in coming days.
