BJP should accept failure in running country: Manohar
9/4/2020 11:45:41 PM

Early Times Report

Kathua, Sep 4: Former Minister & President DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma while addressing public meeting at Mangloor area of Kandi belt of billawar constituency today hit out at BJP led NDA government for failing to run country as economy hit all time low. Manohar said that the truth can no longer be hidden despite "headline management" by the ruling dispensation. DCC President said low GDP growth was expected and alleged that the BJP-led central government had single-handedly "murdered" the Indian economy. He said unemployment is at 45 year high. The slowdown in automobile sales is leading to closure of industrial units in the sector and threatening the livelihood of 3.50 lakh workers. Besides, farmers were not getting a fair price for their produce, leading to the worsening of their debt burden. The Prime Minister had promised to make India a $5-trillion economy. For that to happen, the country had to grow at 12% a year but the growth rate is continuously declining adding that had the government listened to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, it could have revived the economy. Further he said two key policies implemented by the government--demonetization and flawed GST implementation--are responsible for the current economic slowdown. "This government runs away from the word demonetization, which was the first fatal blow to our otherwise reasonably good economy. The flawed implementation of GST was the second blow. But this government is very good with just shifting the goalposts, distracting attention.
