1047 fresh cases of Corona Virus reported in JK, 12 new deaths come up | Positive cases 40990, active positive 8800, recovered 31435, casualties 755 | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Sept 4: For the second consecutive day more than 1,000 Corona Virus cases were reported in Jammu & Kashmir as 1,047 people got affected due to virus today. The number of positive cases in union territory is 40,990 with the number of casualties being 755 following 12 fresh deaths. Jammu reported 322 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar 175 cases, Budgam 78 cases, Kupwara 69 cases, Baramulla 61 cases, Anantnag 48 cases, Udhampur 44 cases, Kathua 40 cases, Pulwama and Bandipora 34 cases each, Ganderbal 30 cases, Kishtwar 28 cases, Kulgam 21 cases, Rajouri 18 cases, Samba 13 cases, Poonch 11 cases, Doda seven cases, Ramban six cases and Shopian & Reasi four cases each. Srinagar and Kupwara districts reported three deaths each followed by Jammu and Baramulla two deaths each and a death each in Pulwama and Doda districts. So far 674 Corona Virus patients have died in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 81. Srinagar has the highest number of casualties with 231 deaths. The Jammu & Kashmir through the media bulletin informed that 1,047 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 493 from Jammu division and 554 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 40,990. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and nine from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 676 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 131 from Jammu Division and 545 from Kashmir Division. Out of 40,990 positive cases, 8,800 are active positive, 31,435 have recovered and 755 have died; 81 in Jammu division and 674 in Kashmir division. Out of 10, 31,316 test results available, 9, 90,326 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 4, 72,900 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 44,162 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 8,800 in isolation and 48,036 under home surveillance. Besides, 3, 71,147 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 9,810 positive cases, 1,388 active Positive, 8,191 recovered, 231 deaths; Baramulla has 2,937 positive cases, 506 active positive, 2,328 recovered, 103 deaths; Pulwama has 2,767 positive cases, 451 active positive, 2,260 recovered, 56 deaths; Budgam has 2,722 positive cases, 673 active positive, 1,985 recovered, 64 deaths; Anantnag has 2,464 positive cases, 480 active positive, 1,932 recovered, 52 deaths. “Bandipora has 2,318 positive cases, 697 active positive, 1,595 recovered, 26 deaths; Kupwara has 2,235 positive cases, 618 active positive, 1,564 recovered, 53 deaths; Kulgam has 1,982 positive cases, 125 active positive, 1,820 recovered, 37 deaths; Shopian has 1,735 positive cases, 96 active positive, 1,611 recovered, 28 deaths and Ganderbal has 1,609 positive cases, 397 active positive, 1,188 recovered, 24 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 4,382 positive cases, 2,117 active positive, 2,211 recovered, 54 deaths; Kathua has 1,012 positive cases, 260 active positive, 747 recovered, five deaths; Rajouri has 967 positive cases, 173 active positive, 789 recovered, five deaths; Udhampur has 909 positive cases, 178 active positive, 728 recovered, three deaths; Samba has 777 positive cases, 196 active positive, 578 recovered, three deaths. “Ramban has 673 positive cases, 24 active positive, 648 recovered, one death; Poonch has 469 positive cases, 100 active positive, 365 recovered, four deaths; Doda has 466 positive cases, 99 active positive, 362 recovered, five deaths; Reasi has 437 positive cases, 99 active positive, 338 recovered and Kishtwar has 319 positive cases, 123 active positive, 195 recovered, one death,” reads the bulletin. Out of 40,990 positive cases in J&K, 6,845 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
