VIJAYPUR, Sept 4: Lauding the role of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu for registering an FIR against the dozens of revenue officials including the then SDMs of Vijaypur, Tehsildar Bari Brahmana and his revenue staff and also some land grabbers, provincial president of the JKNPP, Rajesh Pargotra said that the case was handled in an emphatic manner. Addressing a press conference here today, Rajesh Pargotra appealed to the LG of JK UT to forcibly retire the erring and guilty officials who acted in an arbitrary manner and tampered the revenue record for their own pecuniary gain and for the benefit of the land grabbers. He said that in the case of Soma Devi, a widow and an octogenarian, a gamut of land scam has surfaced whereby a payment of Rs 23,91,45000 have been made to the land grabbers for 1457 kanals and 4 marlas by the then SDM Vijaypur. Pargotra urged the ACB to initiate a suo moto action in this regard. Speaking on the occasion, the JKNPP leader necessitated that the Deputy Commissioner Samba is public friendly in the context of eviction of encroachments, however, he should also initiate punitive action against the revenue officials who have assisted the land grabbers for extraneous reasons so that others may get a befitting and deterrent reply for such a gimmickry. Among others who were present in the press conference included Khajur Singh, joint secretary, ex-Sarpanch Bagla Rahya and Capt Karam Chand. |
