Srinagar, Sept 7: Troops recovered warlike stores, including pistols, grenades and detonators in the border town of Gurez in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, a defence ministry spokesman said here on Monday. He said after the recovery of bodies of two militants from river Kishanganga at Tulail on September 5, troops conducted an extensive search in the area. However, during the search of downriver security forces recovered warlike stores, a spokesman said adding the recovery included 6 AK-47 magazines with 270 rounds of ammunition 9 mm loose ammunition- 65 rounds, one Chinese pistol, one grenade two meters cordex, one black wireless set and 15 detonators (electric). He said joint search operation in the area was still going on. Two bodies of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), residents of south Kashmir district of Pulwama, were recovered along with arms and ammunition on September 5, 2020. The bodies were later buried in Sonmarg area of central Kashmir district of Ganderbal. |
