6 months on, COVID warrior doctor denied salary | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Jammu, Sep 6: A doctor looking after the only COVID-19 quarantine facility at Sub Division Padder since the outbreak of pandemic in March this year has not been paid salary for the past six months. According to the details available with Early Times that the doctor had joined duties after the intervention of former DDC Kishtwar (then Chairman District Health Society) in compliance with High Court interim order. The victim doctor (name withheld) told this newspaper that since the DC Kishtwar is his appointing and contract renewing authority, the stand of BMO Padder that he was waiting for clarification from higher authorities regarding subsistence of his post is misplaced and misconstrued. Secondly the case being subjudice doesn’t mean that “I will be forced to beg for my salary.” The doctor had even approached the LG’s Grievance Cell with his plea. He had filed grievance under ID 999001417953 and 999001461477). The doctor said, “I am waiting for the administration to respond and release my salary.” |
