SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Due to surge in Corona Virus cases the COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir has come down from 77 percent to 73 percent. As on date there are 44,570 positive cases in the union territory with the number of recovered patients being 32,760.
1,013 new cases of virus were reported today while as 17 more people died in the past 24 hours with the death toll reaching 801. So far 696 Corona Virus deaths have taken place in Kashmir with the number of deaths in Jammu being 105. Jammu district reported four fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by three deaths in Srinagar, two deaths each in Baramulla and Pulwama districts and one death each in Budgam, Kulgam, Shopian, Kathua, Rajouri & Doda districts.
Jammu district reported 442 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 136 cases, Budgam district 56 cases, Poonch district 41 cases, Pulwama and Anantnag districts 40 cases each, Kupwara district 38 cases, Udhampur district 32 cases, Baramulla and Bandipora districts 31 cases each, Ganderbal district 28 cases, Samba district 22 cases, Kathua district 21 cases, Reasi district 15 cases, Doda district 13 cases, Rajouri district 12 cases, Shopian district 10 cases, Kulgam district three cases and Ramban & Kishtwar districts one case each. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,013 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 600 from Jammu division and 413 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 44,570. Also 17 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; seven from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 433 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 69 from Jammu Division and 364 from Kashmir Division. Out of 44,570 positive cases, 11,009 are active positive, 32,760 have recovered and 801 have died; 105 in Jammu division and 696 in Kashmir division. Out of 10, 88,652 test results available, 10, 44,082 samples have tested negative till date.
Till date 4, 82,771 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 40,114 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 11,009 in isolation and 49,120 under home surveillance. Besides, 3, 81,727 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 10,300 positive cases, 1,400 active positive, 8,660 recovered, 240 deaths; Baramulla has 3,079 positive cases, 604 active positive, 2,369 recovered, 106 deaths; Budgam has 2,923 positive cases, 755 active positive, and 2,102 recovered, 66 deaths; Pulwama has 2,896 positive cases, 509 active positive, 2,328 recovered, 59 deaths; Anantnag has 2,600 positive cases, 563 active positive, 1,985 recovered, 52 deaths.
“Kupwara has 2,421 positive cases, 726 active positive, 1,641 recovered, 54 deaths; Bandipora has 2,395 positive cases, 702 active positive, 1,667 recovered, 26 deaths; Kulgam has 2,000 positive cases, 126 active positive, 1,835 recovered, 39 deaths; Ganderbal has 1,782 positive cases, 437 active positive, 1,320 recovered, 25 deaths and Shopian has 1,756 positive cases, 114 active positive, 1,613 recovered, 29 deaths.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 5,795 positive cases, 3,386 active positive, 2,342 recovered, 67 deaths; Kathua has 1,091 positive cases, 307 active positive, 774 recovered, 10 deaths; Rajouri has 1,043 positive cases, 214 active positive, 822 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 1,030 positive cases, 278 active positive, 748 recovered, four deaths; Samba has 850 positive cases, 249 active positive, 597 recovered, four deaths.
“Ramban has 703 positive cases, 51 active positive, 651 recovered, one death; Poonch has 547 positive cases, 166 active positive, 376 recovered, five deaths; Doda has 542 positive cases, 159 active positive, 377 recovered, six deaths; Reasi has 462 positive cases, 117 active positive, 345 recovered and Kishtwar has 355 positive cases, 146 active positive, 208 recovered, one death,” reads the bulletin. Out of 44,570 positive cases in J&K, 7,126 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
