UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: Municipal Council Udhampur carried out an anti- encroachment drive here today. The drive was conducted on the directions of District Development Commissioner (DDC), Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla.
It was started from Hero Honda showroom to DC residence under the supervision of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Municipal Council Udhampur, Santosh Kotwal with concerned Councilor Arti Verma of Ward No 11 Shiv Nagar.
At the outset, the team removed 30-35 illegal structures which were constructed on road side.
When contacted CEO Municipality Santosh Kotwal said that anti-encroachment drive will continue till the removal of all the encroachments on government land under municipal limit, adding that no one will be spared if found to have constructed illegal structure.
He said that if concerned Councilor of every ward inform us about illegal encroachment we will take action immediately.
In this regard, the general public was instructed to remove the illegal encroachments and in case of failure strict action will be taken against defaulters, he added.
