Jammu, Sep 10: A national-level poetry writing contest was organized by the Women’s studies centre of GGM Science College, Jammu under the patronage of Dr. Ravinder Tickoo, on the topic “No substitute for great teachers in this pandemic”. This was done by the teachers to express their gratitude towards the students for coactively investing their time in the academic as well as non-academic activities, even in these precarious conditions caused by the pandemic. In return the students from all over the country penned down their thoughts in the most bewitching ways possible, composing pieces of art rather than just poems. No person could perceive what beautiful thoughts a person carries in their mind, but as is customary, a few entries were chosen by the judges, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Asst. Prof. from GDC Udhampur, J&K and Dr. Mansi Sharma, GCOE Jammu, J&K on the basis of their imagination and skill of composition. The 1st position was secured by Shivani Soni, BITS Pilani, 2nd by Deepak Chauhan, Loyola College, Chennai and the 3rd position was shared by 2 candidates, Himani Sharma, Govt. PG College Rajouri, J&K and Leepika Sharma, M.A.M PG College Jammu, J&K under the supervision of Dr. Vandana Khajuria, convener Women’s Studies Centre. The entire event was successfully organized and managed by Prof. Babita Mahajan. |
